Getting around

NVS trams and buses connect every part of the city – from the main station via Marienplatz and the Pfaffenteich lake to the palace. 20 lines and 186 stops are included, with around 1,300 trips per weekday and separate timetables for Saturday and Sunday.

Trams run quickly between the main station, the city centre and the south of the city; buses serve outer districts such as Lankow, Werdervorstadt, Zippendorf and Göhren.

Popular routes

Main station to Schwerin Palace – tram to Marienplatz, then a few minutes on foot.
Schwerin Zoo from the city centre – bus towards Zippendorf/Krebsförden.
Pfaffenteich lake and the State Museum – stops right at Bleicherufer.

Tickets

Tickets are available from machines at the larger stops and digitally via NVS. Single tickets, day tickets and weekly or monthly passes are offered; children travel at reduced fares. Current prices are published by Nahverkehr Schwerin GmbH.
